8, Character summary By Kenichi Ueda -Character lead engineer
Hello everyone, I am the guy, who in charge of all the character design. I've been this job for a long time.

Always the Mikami Director push us hard, this time he started by emphasizing "Excellent Quality" he said "You guys are the creators, so you should be happy to work 24 HOURS A DAY for quality!!!!!" or "As a creator, you should DIE for good quality!!" "I want to do THIS and do THAT!" like this.... but he also (always) said "BUT we have to keep up with the SCHEDULE, NO LATE." If we say "We can't make it." I know he will say "That is part of your job to make it happen."

But no matter how much we complain, it didn't matter, because time was running out and we had a ton of work to do. so we just had to do it anyway....
Especially, this time, background creation team made an excellent stage, so we -The character design team- were so worried about our job.
Because the characters are the center of the game, we just can't do poor job. It doesn't matter how much the background is great, if game character is poor, nobody buys the game.
This time, we tried everything we searched for.
Every character's face, we searched for by audition to find good face for the character image, also study the 3-D face scan technique or tried to find detailed texture, build up practical application for motion capture, and to put everything in the game, we had to arrange and modify and repeat several time. Simply we could use 20 times more polygon than original Resident Evil, captured motion is two times more.

Of cause we had to work until midnight or spend the night at the office everyday. For 3 to 4 months before dead line date until end, I was in the situation of "UNDER OFFICE ARREST". I couldn't find any kind of relief from stress, and all my stress went to appetite.
I ate and ate and ate...... result, only last 2 months until dead line, I gained 5kg. I went straight to FAT way. NOOOOOOOO...

Anyway, I'm glad I have an excellent staff, even when I said ridiculous things, they always made things happen. I have to say thank you to my staff to came so far (I mean really far, I thought I couldn't make it) to finish this job.

Even when I complained or I had a really hard time, I think I have to appreciate the chance to create the VERY BEST.
I don't know I've done enough but I feel lucky as a creator, who chose this to make living, have a chance to perform this job.

Everything is done, even I lived in the office or I suffered from backache, or gained weight.
No matter how much magazine rate the game good, if we don't have good sales, this game is just "SUCKS GAME" I hope people enjoy the game and it sales good.

Only uses know.....
